Just months after its launch, Royal Enfield has announced a price hike for the Himalayan. The price increase is between Rs 14,000 to Rs 16,000 and applies to all the variants of the motorcycle. The Himalayan’s introductory pricing of Rs 2.69 lakh was announced in November and as we roll into 2024, the company has ended the introductory price offer.
The new Himalayan is available in four variants, depending on the colour, and post the price hike, the most affordable variant, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Kaza Brown costs Rs 2.85 lakh ex-showroom, which is more than what the range-topping Royal Enfield Hanle Black costed with the introductory price.

With the hike in price, the Himalayan costs more than the Triumph Scrambler 400X, however, the Himalayan offers more while also being a more capable motorcycle off-road. Despite the hike, the Himalayan still costs considerably less than its primary rival, the KTM 390 Adventure. The latter is a quicker and faster motorcycle, but the Himalayan has an edge over the KTM off-road.
The new Himalayan is powered by a 450cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which is a first for Royal Enfield. The motorcycle features USD forks made by Showa, while it gets ride-by-wire, power modes, ABS, and a TFT instrument console amongst others. Royal Enfield also offers a host of accessories for the Himalayan to make it more capable, be it on-road or off it.
