Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is a sportier version of the standard Baleno model and is priced at Rs 8.69 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The RS version is powered by a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet unit that produces 100 hp of power at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. The Boosterjet engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and gets features such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD. Exterior styling is largely similar to the standard Baleno but the RS is offered with minor differentiators such as side skirtings and bumper extensions. The car competes against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GTI and the Fiat Punto Abarth.
