The Mahindra NuvoSport has a trendy exterior and the higher variants come with body coloured bumpers, door handles and ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) on the higher variants. It is equipped with 16 inch alloys for the higher variants with 215 section tyres and has a turning radius of 5.5 metres. It measures 3,985 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,870 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,760 mm.
Inside the Mahindra NuvoSport, the compact SUV boasts of a two tone grey colour scheme for an elegant appeal. The dashboard houses a 6.2 inch infotainment system that supports USB, AUX and Bluetooth playback along with steering mounted audio and phone controls. The higher variants also come with leatherette upholstery instead of fabric, aluminium pedals and scuff plates. The Mahindra NuvoSport has the best in segment boot volume of 415 litres and also has height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) and driver/co driver adjustable armrest with lumbar support.
The Mahindra NuvoSport is powered by a 1,493 cc mHawk diesel engine that generates 100 hp of power at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque from 1,600 rpm to 2,800 rpm. Although the engine has been tuned for the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency, the NuvoSport is not offered with a petrol engine option. The diesel engine has a two stage turbocharger and is BS4 complaint making it available across all locations in India.
There are two transmission options available in the Mahindra NuvoSport, a 5 speed manual gearbox and a 5 speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). Both transmission options send the engine’s power to the rear wheels.
All variants of the Mahindra NuvoSport come with a digital immobiliser, side intrusion beams and a collapsable steering column as standard. The higher variants also get ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), dual front airbags and auto door lock.
The Mahindra NuvoSport has a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.4 kmpl for both transmission options, the 5 speed manual gearbox and the 5 speed AMT or Automated Manual Transmission. For its segment, this figure is appreciable.
