Maruti unveiled the EVX electric SUV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo earlier this year. The concept prototype is slated to be the brand’s first all-electric vehicle with a probable India launch in 2025. A more updated version of the concept electric SUV is expected to make its appearance at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo later this month.
Ahead of its debut in Japan’s annual motoring exhibition, parent company Suzuki has released images of the EVX concept electric SUV. Test mules of the upcoming battery-powered SUV have already been spied on a few occasions in the recent past.
Suzuki EVX concept updates
The prototype to be displayed at the Japanese exhibition is expected to be closer to the final production-spec model slated to launch in India sometime in 2025. Hence, it carries some subtle updates over the model showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year. For instance, the arrowhead-shaped LED headlamp cluster has been replaced by new boomerang-shaped headlamp units.
Also, the Suzuki logo is placed a little higher at the centre of the nose in the latest image. Rest of visual details on its exterior have been carried forward from the earlier prototype. Inside the cabin, the EVX concept gets a twin-screen layout in the dashboard comprising a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment display. The dashboard also houses vertically-stacked AC vents.
Another significant highlight is a floating centre console that houses a rotary dial for the drive modes and also liberates a lot of storage space underneath. The images also reveal a massive panoramic glass roof.
In terms of dimensions, the EVX measures 4,300mm in length; 1,800mm wide; and 1,600mm tall. This ideally makes it an all-electric alternative to the likes of Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, etc. While the company is yet to reveal official specs of the EVX, the all-electric SUV promises to offer 500km in its final production-spec model.
