Top 10 best-selling cars in July 2024 — Creta becomes the best-seller

We have seen the top 5 best-selling carmakers in July 2024, which has seen Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata Motors register sales decline. However, despite the setback, Hyundai leads July 2024 car sales with the Creta outselling some popular models, including the Tata Punch.

Here are the top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles in July 2024, along with their sales numbers and YoY growth.

Best-selling cars in July 2024

July 2024 car sales see the Hyundai Creta lead, having sold 17,350 units, while also posting a positive YoY growth of 23 percent compared to July 2023. Also, the new Hyundai Creta reached the 1 lakh sales milestone last month since its launch in January this year. The Creta is also available in the N Line version, appealing to customers who want a sportier version.

Following the Creta is the Maruti Suzuki Swift, which recorded sales of 16,854 units and witnessing a YoY sales decline of 6 percent. Following the Swift is the Wagon R, which recorded a positive growth of 25 percent after registering a sales decline last month compared to June 2023.

Last month’s best-seller, the Tata Punch settles for fourth place, with sales of 16,121 units and a YoY growth of 34 percent. Following the Punch ate two more Maruti Suzuki vehicles — Ertiga and Brezza, having sold 15,701 units and 14,676 units respectively. While the Ertiga has seen a 9 percent YoY growth, the Brezza saw an 11 percent sales decline.

In seventh is the Tata Nexon, which for the first time in recent times has seen a positive growth. Tata registered sales of 13,902 units in July 2024, witnessing a 13 percent YoY growth.

Mahindra was one of the few carmakers who posted positive growth in July 2024 and credits go to the Scorpio, which has registered sales of 12,237 units. Rounding up the top 10 list are two more Maruti Suzuki products, the Eeco and the Dzire, both registering negative YoY sales.
