2021 Kia Carens 7-Seater RV’s Global Unveil Highlights: The all-new Kia Carens has made its global debut in India today. The Carens is Kia’s fourth vehicle in the country (the first three being Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet). This South Korean carmaker calls it an RV (Recreational Vehicle) and it boasts the ruggedness of an SUV and the practicality of an MPV. The new Kia Carens is the first car to feature the company’s new design language, better known as ‘Opposites United’. That being said, the Carens does look considerably different compared to the rest of the Kia models on sale in the country.
In terms of features, the all-new Carens will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, an all-digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, etc. Moreover, it will be offered with a host of safety features, including six airbags as standard. It will be offered as in the six and seven-seater layouts and powering it will be the same set of petrol and diesel engine options that we get to see on the Kia Seltos. The all-new Kia Carens will be launched in India early next year and upon launch, it will rival the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, etc.

Once unveiled, the three-row Kia Carens is expected to be launched in India early next year at a starting price of close to Rs 15 lakh. Upon arrival, the Kia Carens will rub shoulders against the likes of other three-row SUVs in the segment which include the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.
The upcoming Kia Carens is expected to get a plethora of safety features. In order to be precise, this three-row vehicle shall get multiple airbags along with ABS & EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, and also, electronic stability control.

The upcoming Kia Carens is expected to get 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options that are already on offer with the Seltos. Power, torque and even the gearbox options are expected to be the same as the Seltos. The carmaker might also offer the 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor paired with a 7-speed DCT.
