Tata Motors sells 51,267 cars in Feb, exports decline

Tata Motors will launch two more electric cars this year including Curvv and Harrier EV.

Tata Motors sales in the domestic and international markets for February 2024 stood at 86,406 units compared to 79,705 units during February 2023. Total domestic sales for the company in February 2023, including passenger vehicles (PV) and commercial vehicles (CV), stood at 84,834 units which led to a YoY growth of 9%.

The Pune-based automaker registered a monthly volume of 51,321 units in the passenger vehicle segment in February this year which resulted in a 19% YoY growth. Out of this, 51,267 units were dispatched to showrooms across the country, leading to a YoY growth of 20% YoY growth.

During the same period last year, Tata Motors had recorded a volume of 42,862 units. Only 54 units were exported to overseas markets which led to a significant 81% YoY drop. The carmaker shipped 278 cars to foreign markets in February last year.

Tata Motors EV sales

Tata Motors is currently the market leader in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. The carmaker sold 6,923 EVs in February 2024 as opposed to 5,318 units sold in February last year. This resulted in a 30% YoY growth. The company currently has four electric cars in its portfolio including Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV, and Punch EV.  In the next few months, Tata will launch more EVs such as Curvv EV and Harrier EV.
