Tata Curvv EV launched at Rs 17.49 lakh

The Curvv EV offers two battery pack options and comes in five variants. Bookings for the coupe SUV will commence on August 12.

Tata Motors has officially entered the mid-size SUV market with the Curvv EV.  The Curvv EV is launched for Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings for the electric SUV will open on August 12. The Curvv EV is set to rival the MG ZS EV.

Tata Curvv EV: Battery specs and range

Tata Motors has launched two battery pack options for Curvv EV — standard and long range. The former is powered by a 45 kWh while the top model comes with a 55-kWh battery. According to ARAI, the 45-kWh powered coupe SUV will offer a drive range of 502 km on a single charge, while the 55-kWh battery will churn out a 585 km range. Tata Motors revealed that based on its internal tests called C75, the 45 kWh and the 55 kWh batteries should return a driving range of 330 km to 350 km and 400 km to 425 km respectively.

The Curvv is based on Tata Motors’ ATLAS architecture and both the Curvv EV versions are powered by a single 167 bhp motor on the front axle. According to Tata Motors, the Curvv EV does 0-100 kmph in 8.6 seconds with a top speed of 160 kmph.  

Tata Motors has stated that with a 70-kW charger, 10 to 80 per cent of the battery can be juiced up to 40 minutes. If the battery is charged for only 15 minutes, it offers a range of up to 150 km. Like the Punch EV, the Curvv EV is equipped with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging options.

Tata Curvv EV: Interiors and Features

The Curvv EV’s cabin comes with a dual-tone white and grey colour combination. The design of dashboard is similar to the Nexon EV with a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a navigation map display, a new gear shift, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, a premium 320 Watts 9-speaker JBL sound system and front ventilated seats. It also gets a two-step rear seat recline feature for better comfort, 45W Type C charging ports in front and rear and a cooled glove box.

The Curvv EV is packed with safety features like an electric parking brake with auto hold, Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, an electronic stability program, front parking sensors, all four disc brakes, a blind spot monitor and much more.

Tata Curvv EV: Exteriors

The new coupe SUV has all LED lighting with a connected LED DRL. It sports 18-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles and a sloping roofline. It has a ground clearance of 190 mm, a water wading capacity of 450 litres, boot space of 500 litres with additional space of a frunk. It is the first SUV in its segment to come with a power assist tailgate with gesture control.

Tata Curvv EV: Price

Tata Motors has launched the Curvv EV at an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Curvv EV is available in five variants with the 45 kWh version in Creative, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S trims while the 55 kWh in Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+ and Empowered+ A. The Curvv EV goes up against the MG ZS EV, which starts from Rs 18.98 lakh to Rs 25.44 lakh, ex-showroom.
