Skoda has confirmed that the new Kylaq will officially break cover on November 6. The unveiling is expected to be followed by the launch of the sub-4 metre SUV in 2025 around Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This is the first Czech Republic automobile manufacturer to enter the sub-compact SUV segment. The Kylaq will have its hands full as it takes on the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra 3X0, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
Skoda Kylaq: Engine Specs
The Volkswagen Group only offers made-in-India vehicles with turbo petrol engines and the same is the case for the upcoming Skoda SUV, the Kylaq. The compact SUV is expected to be powered by a 1-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with an output of 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission. Like the Kushaq and the Slavia, the new compact SUV is based on the MQB-A0 IN architecture.
Skoda Kylaq: Features
The Kylaq is expected to borrow features from the Slavia and the Kushaq starting with a 7-inch infotainment system for the entry-level models and a 10-inch display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, it is expected to get front ventilated seats, paddle shifters for automatic, a sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control. It will also get an all-digital instrument console.
As a Skoda vehicle, the Kylaq will be packed with safety features like 6 airbags, three-point seat belts, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera etc.
