When speaking about car safety, we look at how safe a car performs in keeping its occupants safe. Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP perform various types of crash tests to determine these and rate vehicles, offering 5 stars as the maximum. However, when buying a car, one also needs to consider the safety of children in the vehicle. Global NCAP and Bharat NCAp perform these tests as well, and here are the safest cars for children under Rs 12 lakh in India.

Tata Nexon

Tata vehicles were the first to receive a full 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP for cars made by an Indian manufacturer and the Nexon enjoys that credit. While it did score a full five points for adult protection, the SUV also scored full marks for child protection, owing to its multiple airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The Tata Nexon’s prices start from Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
