There’s been a string of spy shots of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire. According to an Autocar India report, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the most successful sedan after Diwali. The company has made sure that the sedan doesn’t look anything like the hatchback model, the Swift. The Dzire will compete against the new Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and the Hyundai Aura.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Exteriors
Maruti Suzuki has completely changed exteriors starting from the front fascia, which reminds us of the Audi’s iconic Bavarian beard grille. The new Dzire sports a six slats instead of the Swifts honey comb grille. The design seems to be inspired from the German manufactures as it has a muscular and clean bonnet structure with character lines. The new sleek headlights resembles the Volkswagen Virtus and LED fog lamps nestled in the aggressive looking front bumper. From the side, it has a prominent shoulder line with metal finish window sills and brand new dual-tone alloy wheels. The spy image reveals that the Dzire will offer a single-panel sunroof. The rear is quite brawny with LED tail lamps with a slim metal strip above it.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Features
The cabin will be similar to the Swift though with different colour combination. It is expected to sport a 9-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera and an analogue instrument cluster with a multi-information display. In terms of safety, it will get 6 airbags, hill-hold assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), reverse parking camera and Anti-lock braking system and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: 1.2-litre engine specs
Like the Swift, the Dzire will be powertrain by the 1.2-litre 3 cylinder with an output of 80 bhp and 111.7 Nm of torque. It will be available in two transmissions — a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to later launch the Dzire CNG. The sedan could make its debut this festive season.
