Hyundai Alcazar launch live: Hyundai has launched the Alcazar seven-seater in India today, priced at Rs 14.99 lakh onwards, ex-showroom. The new Alcazar rivals the Kia Carens, Mahindra XUV 700, Tata Safari, and the MG Hector Plus. Hyundai, over the last few days, had released several images of the exterior and interior of the vehicle, which showcase its design updates and its long list of features.
The Hyundai Alcazar sees a big change in design, following a familiar pattern seen in the carmaker’s SUV range such as the Exter and Creta. The Alcazar gets H-shaped DRLs with vertically-stacked headlights, along with vertical tail lamps, that are connected with a light bar. The overall design looks more muscular compared to the previous-gen Alcazar.
In terms of features, the Alcazar gets twin TFT units, a digital dash, smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, ventilated seats, navigation, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, and ADAS Level 2. The new 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will draw power from a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine.

The Hyundai Alcazar facelift has been officially launched in India, priced at Rs 14.99 lakh onward for the petrol version, ex-showroom. The Alcazar is available with two engine option, a 158bhp petrol and a 113bhp diesel, mated to a choice of gearboxes that include a manual, DCT, and a torque converter automatic.
We have seen a number of changes in the new Hyundai Alcazar and these are significant changes over the previous model. Here is a detailed comparison on what’s new with the Alcazar facelift over the older model.

To date, the 53 percent of the Alcazar’s sales were for the top-spec Signature trim, wheich gets all the bells and whistles.
The Hyundai Alcazar will get paddle shifters, three drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and three traction control modes, namely, Snow, Sand, and Mud.
The Alcazar gets a list of new features compared to the model it replaces: New crash pad with dual tone colour, ventilated second row seats, second row captain seats with folding, driver power seat memory function armrest, 8-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seat, digital key, auto-wipers, and dual-zone climate control.
As mentioned earlier, the Alcazar facelift gets Level 2 ADAS with 19 functionalities like Smart Cruise Control, Surround View Monitor (SVM), Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM), Forward Collison Warning & Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning and more.
The updated Alcazar will get over 70 bluelink connected car features along with smartwatch and smart phone connectivity. The seven-seater also incorporates over 270 embedded VR commands, 135 Hindi voice commands, and 10 ambient sounds of nature.
The new Hyundai Alcazar will measure 4560mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1710mm in height. It will have a wheelbase of 2760mm. The new Alcazar is wider and taller than the model it replaces, offering better headroom and shoulder room. The wheelbase remains the same.
The new Alcazar will get a number of safety features and 40 of them will be standard. These will include six airbags, hill start assist, stability control, disc brakes for all four wheels, hill descent control, parking sensors, reverse camera, auto rain-sensing wipers, and more.
The new Alcazar facelift will get a new ‘Boss’ mode, which offers electrical adjustment of the front passenger seat for the second-row, which allows ease of access in case more legroom is needed. Speaking of the second row, the seats will be ventilated and reshaped headrests will offer better passenger comfort.
The Alcazar will be a premium offering, as it offers some class-leading features. One of them is the ability to use the smartphone to unlock doors. Hyundai uses NFC technology to enable users to unlock the doors by simply holding the smartphone close to the Alcazar. This feature can be personalised for three users and shared between seven devices.
Hyundai is gaining a reputation for safety, and the Verna is a good example. The sedan earned top points for adult and child safety. The Alcazar will be noting less as it gets multiple airbags, 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and ADAS Level 2.
Hyundais have always been loaded to brim with features and the Alcazar is a Hyundai after all. The facelifted version will get a digital dash, a large TFT infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and more. There will be multiple variants on offer and the list is expected to be long.
Now, with the facelifted version, the Alcazar will get the same engine options, the 113bhp diesel and the 158bhp petrol units. Gearbox choices will include a manual, DCT, and a torque converter automatic. More details on this will be known once the pricing and variants are announced.
When launched, the Alcazar had a choice of two engines — a 2.0-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The former made 157bhp while the diesel mill made 113bhp. Later, in 2023, Hyundai updated the petrol engine with the new 1.5-litre turbocharged unit, which currently powers the Verna, Creta, and the upcoming Alcazar.
The Hyundai Alcazar is based on the Creta platform as was first launched in 2021. The Alzacar offers three rows of seating and few design elements gave it a distinctive look compared to the Creta. The Hyundai Alcazar’s primary competition was the Kia Carens, an MPV from its sister company, Kia.
