Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG launch on September 12: Expected price

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Swift CNG on September 12. The petrol variant of the Swift was introduced in May earlier this year. The Swift CNG aims to compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Tata Tiago, both equipped with a twin-cylinder CNG tank. Below is everything you need to know about the Swift CNG.

Maruti Suzuki CNG: What to expect?

The recently launched fourth-generation Swift has been doing well for Maruti Suzuki as it continues to be one of the most successful hatchbacks in the market. According to a Carwale report, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Swift CNG on September 12 ahead of the festive period. The hatchback will be available in various trims, but it will be interesting to see whether this version will be available only in entry-level and mid-level variants or if the company will finally offer a top-of-the-line CNG model. The Swift CNG will be powered by the 1197 cc Z12E naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine like its ICE version. It will be the first time this engine will be available in the CNG option. 

Maruti Suzuki CNG: Prices

Considering the price gap between ICE and CNG models in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup, the Swift CNG might carry a premium of Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000. The Swift ICE variants are priced from Rs 8.34 lakh to Rs 13.98 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The Swift CNG will compete with the Grand i10 Nios CNG and the Tiago CNG. Presently, Tata Motors is providing a discount of Rs 15,000 on the Tiago CNG.
