The Brazil-spec Hyundai Creta N Line currently gets a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which we see in i20 N Line, and Venue N Line.

Hyundai Creta is by far the most popular SUV in India and its sales volume speaks for itself. In the first four months of 2025, Hyundai dispatched almost 70,000 units of the mid-size SUV across the country. The Creta is best known for the number of options it offers to the buyers in terms of variants, features, engines, and transmissions.

Besides the standard version, Hyundai also offers the sportier-looking Creta N-Line catered specifically for enthusiasts who want to stand out in the crowd. In India, the Creta N-Line is offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine but Hyundai is planning to upgrade the N-Line trim with a more powerful engine in select markets.

Hyundai Creta N Line engine upgrade

A test unit of the Hyundai Creta N Line was spotted recently in Brazil which reportedly was powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine. As per reports, the South Korean carmaker is planning to upgrade the Creta N Line with this new 1.6-litre turbo petrol unit. This can be confirmed by the ‘1.6-TGDI’ emblem on the tailgate.

The spy images show a completely uncamouflaged Creta N Line wearing a silver paint scheme. This suggests that visually the Creta N Line is likely to remain unchanged. Even features are likely to remain the same. The only exterior difference between the India-spec and Brazil-spec Creta N-Line is that the latter gets a size larger 18-inch alloy wheels.

Although we don’t get a sneak peek inside its cabin, we expect the same all-black interiors as the current Creta N Line. This includes seats wrapped in black synthetic leather, accentuated by contrasting red stitching. This treatment can also be seen on the gear knob, steering wheel and central armrest. Another significant interiors highlight is the red ambient lighting across the central panel and front doors.

The front seats feature distinctive ‘N Line’ branding, while the steering wheel and gear knob also sport the signature N badging. Additional highlights include sporty metal pedals, a glossy black finish on various elements, and custom-designed door sills.

Hyundai Creta N-Line: Powertrain upgrade

Currently, Hyundai equips the Creta N Line with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder GDI turbocharged petrol engine in Brazil. This engine pushes out 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. The new 1.6-litre turbo petrol unit pumps out 191 bhp and 265 Nm of peak torque. This engine is solely paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the other hand, the India-spec Creta N Line is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged mill that kicks out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. It gets the same 7-speed DCT gearbox as standard.

The new Hyundai Creta N Line with the 1.6-litre TGDI petrol mill is expected to be offered at a price of around R$ 200,000 (approx. Rs 31.15 lakh) in Brazil. As of now, Creta N Line in Brazil is offered at R$ 188,720 (approx. Rs 29.39 lakh). It seems unlikely that Hyundai will add the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine to the India lineup anytime soon, since this power mill isn’t used by any other model either by Hyundai or Kia in the country.
