Tata Motors officially unveiled the Harrier EV in its full glory at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The all-electric Harrier has been in the making for a long time now and has been spotted testing on numerous occasions over the past few months. In the previous two iterations of the Expo, Tata Motors had showcased pre-production concepts of the Harrier EV.

The company is yet to officially announce the prices of the new Harrier.EV which we expect to be announced in Q1 2025. Let us look at the top 5 highlights of the Harrier EV one should know about.

Tata Harrier EV: Similar Looks

The fully-electric Harrier looks very similar to its fossil-fueled sibling since it gets the same body shell. The only major difference is a completely sealed-off nose in the Harrier EV. Other EV-specific visual highlights include revised front bumper with vertical slats, aerodynamically styled alloy wheels, and a new “Harrier.ev” branding.

Tata Harrier EV: Same DNA

While the release might state that the Harrier EV is based on Tata’s Acti.ev architecture, the truth is that it’s based on a modified version of the Land Rover D8 platform as the existing Harrier ICE. This means the battery pack and motors have been integrated onto an ICE platform which should have resulted in some structural changes.

Tata Harrier EV: Same cabin & features

The cabin layout of Harrier EV as well is the same as the ICE-powered Harrier. However, the battery-powered Harrier gets a different seat upholstery while the dashboard and door trims get soft touch panels to make it a more premium experience. In terms of features, the Harrier EV is kitted with a dual 12.3-inch display— one each for infotainment and driver’s instrumentation, dual-zone climate control, 6-way powered driver’s seat and 4-way powered co-driver’s seat, wireless phone charger, and ventilated front seats.

Safety is taken care of by 7 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and more.

Tata Harrier EV: All-wheel drive powertrain

Tata Motors hasn’t revealed the complete details of its powertrain, but it has been announced that the Harrier EV will come with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. Power figure is still unknown but peak torque is rated at 500 Nm. Moreover, the electric SUV will offer a single-charge range of over 500 km although the exact battery capacity is still in the dark.
