The wait is over and Kia has unveiled the 2024 Sonet facelift. The carmaker has not announced the prices, however, bookings for the 2024 Kia Sonet will commence on December 20. Also, the biggest news with the updated Sonet is the inclusion of ADAS.

Starting with the looks, the Sonet gets a new set of headlights and DRL setup, while the front grille has seen an update to make it look sportier. The SUV also gets tweaked bumpers and redesigned tail lamps. Inside, the new Sonet gets an all-black finish with brown inserts, while there are four other combinations also on offer.

The older Sonet had 25 segment-first features and the facelifted version takes that a notch higher with features such as dual 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument console – power-adjustable driver’s seat, 360-degree camera, over 70 connected car features, a 7-speaker system from Bose, and more.

Powering the new Kia Sonet facelift is a choice of three engines, a 118bhp 1.-litre turbo petrol engine, an 82bhp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 114bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed automatic, depending on the variants.

Safety has also been a key focus area for Kia and the new Sonet gets 6 airbags, an ADAS suite with 10 autonomous functions, parking sensors, hill start assist, electronic stability control, ABS, and much more. The Sonet has raised the bar high for competition.

Speaking of competition, the new Kia Sonet facelift competes with the Hyundai Venue, which shares the same platform and engines, the newly-facelifted Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger in India.
