India loves adventure tourers. This is why Royal Enfield sells its Himalayan 450 models by truckloads. This is why KTM is bringing its off-road-centric motorcycles to India in different shapes and sizes. This is also why TVS is getting into this segment with its first off-road-centric adventure touring motorcycle. What’s even more exciting is that it doesn’t belong to the Apache series, which means TVS is serious about it. Meet the TVS RTX 300.
Originally showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025 behind closed doors, the RTX 300 will establish a new lineup of off-road and touring-centric motorcycles in the premium segment. Since the engine is likely to be based on TVS’ long-standing 300cc single-cylinder engine used in the Apache 310RR and Apache RTR 310, the RTX 300 could enjoy the new GST price slabs and come with a highly competitive price tag.
TVS RTX 300 launch date and segment target
After being showcased to a handful of people during the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025, TVS took almost the entire year to announce an official launch date of October 15. Hence, TVS’s first off-road centric motorcycle will launch just in the midst of the 2025 festive season, which could help it increase footfalls in the showroom and encourage more consumers to upgrade from less capable motorcycles. The RTX 300 could be one of the very few adventure tourers in India to offer a highly balanced approach to commuting and long-range touring.
TVS RTX 300: Engine, power, and performance
At the heart of the RTX 300 is TVS’s brand-new 299cc, liquid-cooled RTX D4 engine. This powerplant is rumoured to be tuned for strong performance, generating an output of 35 bhp and 28.5 Nm of peak torque. This kind of power figure positions the RTX 300 competitively within its class. The engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox for flexibility and cruising comfort on the highway.
TVS RTX 300: Design and setup
Based on leaked images and teasers, the RTX 300 seems to feature a purposeful, adventure-ready design. Key styling cues include a sharp fairing, a distinctive small front beak, and a large windshield for effective wind protection on long rides. The overall profile is completed by a slim tail section, characteristic of a versatile tourer.
The bike’s underpinnings utilises a robust steel trellis frame paired with an upside-down (USD) fork setup at the front and a monoshock at the rear. For wheel configuration, it opts for a standard ADV setup – a large 19-inch front wheel paired with a 17-inch rear wheel, ensuring stability and the ability to roll over obstacles. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends.
TVS RTX 300: Expected features and tech
TVS is known for loading its premium offerings with technology, and the RTX 300 is expected to be no exception. The bike will likely feature a colour TFT display that could offer smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and various telemetry data. Furthermore, riders can anticipate advanced electronic aids such as multiple ride modes and potentially traction control — features that are becoming essential in the adventure segment.
TVS RTX 300: India price and competition
The TVS RTX 300 is expected to be priced competitively to secure a strong foothold in the market. While official figures are awaited, the market estimates a starting price tag of approximately Rs 2.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
With this price, the TVS RTX 300 will go up against the likes of the KTM 250 Adventure and Honda CB200X, alongside other potential competitors in the sub-400cc ADV space. Will such a package from TVS lure you away from the more competitive offerings from KTM?
