Hero MotoCorp is the highest-selling two-wheeler brand in the country but most of its volume comes from entry-level products. In recent years, the homegrown bikemaker has switched its focus to premium machines which led to the rebirth of the Karizma nameplate last year. But Hero hasn’t stopped there. The company unveiled the Karizma 250 at the recent EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy.

It seems Hero will expand the Karizma range further with another model expected to join the ranks in the future. The company recently filed a patent application for the Xpulse 421 which will potentially rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The new 421 range will be Hero’s new flagship series.

Hero Karizma 421: What do we know?

Based on the same platform, Hero MotoCorp has filed another patent application for a 421cc motorcycle. The bike gets a semi-faired design which most likely be a sports tourer and hence could possibly carry the Karizma nameplate. That said, the design presented in the patent doesn’t fall in sync with the current Karizma XMR 210 or the upcoming Karizma XMR 250.

In fact, the design patent reminds us of the Gen 1 Karizma in the early 2000s which looked like a sports cruiser. Other visual highlights include a flat low-set handlebar, an exposed frame, a floating tail section, and an upswept exhaust. The patent also reveals a cowl with a back rest instead of a pillion seat.

There are no specific details available for the powertrain used for this motorcycle. In all likelihood, this will be an all-new engine built from the ground by Hero MotoCorp. However, we can see from the image that this new engine is devoid of any air fins which means it is likely to be a liquid-cooled unit.  Therefore, it is very different we can expect high levels of performance. We expect more clarity on this bike in the coming months.
