TVS is celebrating 20 years of the Apache series of sporty motorcycles by launching an updated version of Apache RTR 160 – the first motorcycle in this range. As teased by the company’s social media handles a few days ago, the updates on the Apache RTR 160 2V are minor.
2025 TVS Apache RTR 160: What’s new?
Look-wise, the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V remains completely unchanged. The only difference is the addition of red-coloured alloy wheels. The other big change is the addition of dual-channel ABS, thus enhancing the safety next. Prices for the 2025 Apache RTR 160 2V starts from Rs 1,34,320 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The motorcycle continues to offer three distinct ride modes: Sport, Urban, Rain, a digital instrument console that comes with TVS SmartXonnect along with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, call/SMS alerts, crash alerts, lean angle modes, and more. The bike is now available in two colour schemes namely Matte Black and Pearl White.
2025 TVS Apache RTR 160: Mechanical specs
The Apache RTR 160 features a double cradle frame with telescopic front forks and gas-charged rear shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a 270mm front disc, while the rear gets either a 130mm drum or a 200mm disc, depending on the variant. It runs on 17-inch wheels with 90/90 front and 110/80 rear tyres, though the Disc BT variant is equipped with a wider 120/70 rear tyre.
Powering the Apache RTR 160 is the same 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that pushes out 15.82 bhp at 8,750 rpm and a torque of 13.85 Nm at 7000 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. More importantly, this engine is now OBD2B compliant. The 4-valve version of the Apache RTR 160 was updated in December 2024.
