The number of fatal brain-eating amoeba cases in Kerala has reached 67 with 18 deaths. A 17-year-old boy in Thiruvananthapuram is the latest victim, contracting the infection from a pool. The state has closed the pool and sent water samples for testing. Avoiding stagnant freshwater and using nose clips while swimming can prevent the infection caused by Naegleria fowleri.
