Food inflation in negative zone for 6th month in a row
Retail food inflation in India has been negative for six months due to low prices of vegetables, cereals, pulses, meat, eggs, and spices. However, it increased slightly in November due to a rise in prices of some food items. The consumer food price index also rose, but was still lower than last year. Vegetable prices saw the highest deflation, while edible oil and fruit prices remained high.
