The Renault Pulse is a hatchback that measures 3,805 mm in length, 1,665 mm in width, 1,525 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The minumum turning radius of the hatchback is 4.65 metres and higher variants of the Renault Pulse are offered with alloy wheels. Suspension system on the hatchback is a McPherson Strut upfront and a torsion beam at the rear. The fuel tank capacity on the Renault Pulse is 41 litres.
The Renault Pulse comes with dual-tone colour scheme and is offered with a power steering as well as manual controls for air conditioning on all variants. In addition, all versions also have internally adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirror), adjustable rear headrests, gear shift indicator, cup holders and front power windows. The higher variants also have rear power windows, tachometer, vanity mirror for the passenger and a rear parcel shelf.
The Renault Pulse comes with a 1,198 cc petrol engine which produces 75 hp of power at 5,000 rpm along with 104 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The diesel engine which is a 1,481 cc unit generates 63 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.
Transmission duty for both, petrol and diesel, engine is done by a 5 speed manual gearbox. There is no option of an automatic transmission. However, both transmissions along with the engines have been tuned for the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
In terms of safety, the Renault Pulse is offered with Anti lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), dual front airbags, driver and passenger side and front impact beams, speed sensing automatic door locks and hazard warning switch.
The Renault Pulse has a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.06 kmpl for the petrol variants and 23.08 kmpl for the diesel engine options. These mileage figures are acceptable for its segment.
