Pramac’s Jorge Martin takes the win at the GermanGP Sprint race, while Trackhouse Racing takes its first MotoGP podium. Factory Ducati riders Bagnaia and Bastianini settle for third and fourth. Marques, having started lower down the starting order, managed a sixth-place finish.
The German Sprint race saw a battle between Martin, Oliviera, and Bagnaia at the start of the race, however, by the end of lap 1, Martin had cemented his lead in the front, while Trackhouse Racing’s Oliviera managed to put himself between the two championship contenders, and stayed there for the rest of the race.
The trio were followed by Ducati’s second factory rider Bastianini in fourth, while Pramac’s Morbidelli finished fifth, after struggling to find the pace. That said, Marquez managed to snatch the sixth place from Aprilia’s Vinales in the final turns, managing a picture-perfect photo finish for sixth.
Both riders suffered crashes during qualification and were not at 100 percent, however, the battle for sixth place was interesting as the battle for first itself.
KTM’s Brad Binder, Alex Marquez, and Bezzecchi rounded up the top 10 riders in the German Sprint race, while Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez who started at the front of the grid could not find the pace to keep up. MotoGP rookie Acosta, after crashing during qualifying, took it slow but eventually ran wide to finish further down the pack.
