September Auto Sales 2025 Live Updates: Tata Motors recorded strong sales in September 2025 across both commercial and passenger vehicle categories. The company’s total commercial vehicle (CV) sales jumped 19% year-on-year to 35,862 units. Domestic CV sales rose 16% to 33,148 units.

In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, Tata Motors posted a sharp rise with 60,907 units sold, up 47%, while domestic PV sales grew 45% to 59,667 units. Electric vehicles (EVs) were the standout, with sales nearly doubling — up 96% at 9,191 units. For the second quarter of FY26 (July–September), Tata Motors reported total CV sales of 94,681 units, a 12% increase, with domestic CV sales up 9% year-on-year.

“GST rates from late September brought a good recovery in sales, bookings and sentiment,” Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors Ltd.,said. 

Hyundai Motor India recorded 51,547 units in domestic sales in September 2025, boosted by GST cuts, festive demand, and strong consumer interest. SUVs contributed 37,313 units, accounting for 72.4% of total sales, the highest-ever share for the segment. The Hyundai Venue achieved its best monthly performance in the last 20 months, with 11,484 units sold.

“Our domestic sales in September stood at 51,547 units, driven by vibrant festive demand and strong customer interest across all segments. We have also witnessed highest-ever domestic SUV sales penetration in the history of the Company at 72.4%, with CRETA scoring the highest-ever monthly sales at 18,861 units. VENUE too reported a 20-month high sales volume of 11,484 units in September,” Tarun Garg, Wholetime Director & Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said.

Mahindra & Mahindra recorded its strongest monthly performance in September 2025, achieving total vehicle sales of 1,00,298 units, marking a robust 16% year-on-year growth compared to the same period last year. The company’s SUV division emerged as the primary growth driver, registering domestic sales of 56,233 units in September 2025, a substantial 10% increase over the 51,062 units sold in September 2024. More significantly, this figure reflects a dramatic 42.7% month-on-month surge compared to August 2025’s 39,399 units, highlighting the combined impact of festive season demand and the recently implemented GST 2.0 benefits.

Bajaj Auto sales in September 2025

Bajaj Auto reported total sales of 5.1 lakh units in September, up 9% year-on-year. Two-wheeler sales grew 8% to 4.3 lakh units, driven by domestic sales up 4% at 3.25 lakh units and exports surging 18% to 1.85 lakh units. Commercial vehicle sales also climbed 15% to 79,650 units, reflecting strong festive demand and robust market performance across segments.

The GST rate cut, which reduced taxes on small cars and auto components from 28% to 18%, is expected to immediately boost sales, especially among first-time and young buyers. Maruti Suzuki alone sold over 75,000 units in just four days (Sept 22–25), compared to 135,000 units in August.
