The Renault Kiger Concept has been revealed. Renault India promises that the concept is 80% close to production. The Renault Kiger will be the brand’s B-SUV and will be a sub-compact model based on the CMFA+ platform that underpins the Renault Triber.

The Renault Kiger concept looks quite funky and bold. Clearly, Renault is aiming for a youthful demographic with the Kiger. The front has the Renault SUV signature grille which seamlessly integrate into the eyebrow-like LED DRLs. The split headlamp design will see more LEDs in the main headlamp cluster positioned lower on the front bumper.

The Kiger is likely to offer ground clearance of over 200mm. At the rear, the tail lamps will use a C-shaped LED signature look. Renault has given the Kiger a bold look even at the rear for the concept. We expect the final production model to remain true to the show car, albeit seeing some changes when it is homologated for the road.

Aiming for a younger demographic, Renault claims that the Kiger will come loaded with many smart and best in class features as well. We expect the Kiger to offer an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver instrument cluster, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and android auto, internet-enabled features and more. However, Renault has not revealed the in-cabin design yet.

The Kiger concept rides on 19-inch wheels and sports a centrally mounted rear exhaust. Both of these design elements although look funky and cool. They may be left on the design table, making way for a more sensible 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a traditionally positioned exhaust tip on the final production model.

In profile, the Kiger will sport a floating roof design. This makes it clear that Renault intends to offer dual-tone colour schemes with the Kiger, like its sibling, the Nissan Magnite. The Kiger concept dons a special California Dream or Aurora Borealis colour. the special paint gives the car an ever-changing shade that shifts between blue and purple hues.

The Renault Kiger will make its market debut in India. It is expected to go on sale in 2021. Following its launch in India, Renault plans to sell the Kiger internationally as well. Renault says that the Kiger concept vehicle has been co-designed and developed by its corporate design teams in France and Renault India design.
