Jillian Deschenes, a Minnesota resident, is a nurse in the suburbs of Minneapolis from Monday to Friday but on weekends, she's a flat track racer who held the number 1 plate in the women's class in her district. Her success attracted Royal Enfield who invited her to try out the FT411 based on the Himalayan. They liked her so well, she was picked one of four women for the 'Build. Train. Race.' — a grassroots female-focused flat track program. Each one was handed a new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 to transform into a race bike and ultimately take to the tracks. (Source: Bikeexif)

Jillian had no bike-building experience but yet a brand new Interceptor in her garage – along with which she had a three-month deadline, an eight-year-old daughter and a full-time job. But through hard work, commitment and perhaps a significant lack of sleep, she delivered a neat flat track machine that looks like it rolled out of a pro shop. (Source: Bikeexif)

As her team, Jillian had her father Jim Deschenes who owns Superior Tool Grinding and helped to machine a number of custom parts, and her fiancé – fellow racer Erik Moldenhauer. The bike has a tank cover from modern Harley-Davidson XR750 sourced from Gopher Glass up front, and a tail section from Saddlemen. (Source: Bikeexif)

The fuel tank is now under the seat – a one-gallon fuel cell from Boyd Welding with a modified flange for the OEM pump. Battery has been replaced with a lightweight Lithium-ion one from Antigravity. For suspension, it gets a set of Yamaha R6 forks with Race Tech Gold valves. They’re held in place by a pair of modified R6 bottom yokes. The rear shocks are stock, but they’ve been re-sprung and re-valved. (Source: Bikeexif)

Wheels were replaced with – the front has a Suzuki Savage hub shaved down with a 2.50×19 Warp 9 rim, and a Cheney quick-change hub – laced to a 3.0×19 Warp 9 rim at the rear. The tyres are Dunlop DT4s. Dad Jim machined up a new 20 mm axle for the front, a set of wheel spacers for both ends, and a custom brake calliper mount at the back. (Source: Bikeexif)

The cockpit is minimal – a set of wide tapered flat track bars, with a Motion Pro throttle housing and run/start switch. The ignition switch has been replaced with a simple ‘on/off’ toggle switch too. Jillian kept her new race bike’s livery simple and extremely classy. She hit her deadline, and in the process delivered a neat flat racker, but also a great example of the Interceptor’s potential. (Source: Bikeexif)
