Electric vehicles have seen massive popularity, as carmakers from around the world are introducing new models with updated tech for convenience and safety. EVs have also quickly become the go-to choice for many in India and are slowly more visible on highways as well.
All said, electric vehicles have been in the news recently for being new in the market or because they are just popular. Here are the top five trending EVs and topics in June 2025.

Tata Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV is one of the newest in the market, marking the return of a 4X4 vehicle by Tata Motors. The Harrier EV created a lot of buzz with its Land-Rover-style stunt that showcased its capabilities and the electric SUV is priced at Rs 21.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Tata has not revealed prices for all the variants yet, and the range-topping Harrier variant gets AWD.
MG Windsor
The MG Windsor is popular because it has been the best-selling EV in India for a few months now, surpassing the Tata Nexon EV. The MG Windsor can be had with two battery packs and the one with the larger pack – Windsor Pro – was launched recently. The Windsor is also offered with a Battery as a Service option, bringing the cost even lower.
Mahindra BE 6
The Mahindra BE 6 was launched alongside the XEV 9e, which quickly achieved record sales for Mahindra, owing to its futuristic design and performance. The two models have also been in the news owing to a few breakdowns, but Mahindra was quick to fix them. The Mahindra BE 6 is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh onwards and gets two battery pack options.
Tesla
Now, moving on to global electric car brands. Tesla is popular owing to many reasons — from Musk’s involvement with the US government to its cars being vandalised and even its entry into India. Now Musk is back at Tesla’s desk and the US EV brand is trending again and hopefully, it picks up on lost sales.
Mercedes-Benz
The German carmaker has quickly ramped up its electric portfolio and the latest is the updated EQS 580 4Matic sedan, called the “Celebration Edition”, which will see a limited production of 50 units. The new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic is priced at Rs 1.30 crore ex-showroom, and the vehicle gets a few extra add-ons compared to the standard sedan.
