Ka-Chow! The third installment of the Cars franchise is closing in towards its release, but before that happens, something even cooler has made its way. A fantastic toy which not only will appeal to five-year-old kids but their dads too. This particular Lightning McQueen toy racer is perhaps the coolest RC car you’ve ever seen. The toy developed by Sphero is scaled down version of the Cars lead character and is pretty much like having McQueen drive around in your house. Controlled via a mobile app, it is not just racing toy, it also has the expressions from the reel McQueen. A total of six motors are on board the toy – one controls the animatronic mouth, two do the suspension, two work the front tyres and one does the steering.
McQueen is known for drifting and so Sphero have given this toy tyres that are made of material that assists proper drifting, not only on smooth surfaces but on ‘average carpet surfaces’. Hence, donuts are also no biggie for it.
It gets better – his EYES MOVE! There’s a main processor inside that controls McQueen’s eye movement. There are five capacitive touch sensors, allowing the toy racer to respond to taps on his roof, taps on the bonnet, the side doors and rear window. Bluetooth and wifi allow for updates and app control.
It won’t come cheap though. It will set you back Rs 20,000 for this fantastic toy. But then this perhaps not just toy, and more of an aspirational product. We’re only trying to make it sound serious, but the fact is – who wouldn’t want this!
