Volkswagen India has announced that pre-bookings for the Volkswagen Golf GTI will commence from the 5th of May 2025. With the latest generation Golf GTI Mk 8.5, the Indian market will have a limited allocation. For the enthusiasts, the Golf GTI is more than just a car – it’s the hot hatch.

The Golf GTI will be available as a Fully built unit (FBU) offering customers an opportunity to experience the true GTI DNA in its purest form. The Golf GTI will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 260bhp and 370Nm of torque. This is capable of launching the car from 0–100kmph in 5.9 seconds.

The new Volkswagen Golf GTI, when launched in India will have no direct competition and prices for the hot hatch are expected to be around Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom.
