Toyota Land Cruiser 300 recalled in India

Toyota has issues a recall for the LC 300 in India owing to a software issue with the ECU.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is a tank, and as it turns out, tanks can have software glitches, too. Toyota has announced a recall for the Land Cruiser 300 in India over a faulty ECU software glitch.

A total of 269 SUVs are affected, manufactured between 12 February 2021 to 1 February 2023. Toyota says that the issue is with the automatic gearbox’s ECU software, however, no issues have been reported yet.

Toyota will update the software for free for customers with the affected vehicles and the carmaker says that customers can continue using their Land Cruisers till the fix is sorted. Toyota dealers will get in touch with customers directly.

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is sold in India in a single variant that is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine that makes 305bhp and 700Nm of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The Land Cruiser carries a price tag of Rs 2.1 crore, ex-showroom.
