Kia has become one of the most successful carmakers in India, ever since the launch of the Selto, the carmaker’s first offering in India. Now, Kia offers multiple products, however, its SUV range that consists of the Seltos and the Sonet are the best-sellers for the carmaker. Kia entered the Indian market with the Seltos, based on the same platform as the Creta and even sharing powertrains. After a successful run, Kia slowly brought in other vehicles and the Seltos saw an update recently, both cosmetically, mechanically, and technologically. All this has resulted in Kia selling 12,362 units of the Seltos in October 2023, registering a YoY growth of 26 percent.
The second-best-seller for Kia last month was the Sonet, the sub-4 metre SUV that is based on the Hyundai Venue and competes with the likes of the Brezza, XUV300, and the Tata Nexon. Last month, Kia sold 6,493 units of the Sonet as compared to selling 7,614 units in October 2022, registering a negative growth of 15 percent.
Kia Carens
The Kia Carens comes next and has proven to be a success for Kia when it even managed to outsell the Innova Crysta shortly after it was launched. The Carens now gets a powerful turbo petrol engine that makes 158bhp and gets added features. All this has not resulted in positive sales for Kia last month, as the carmaker sold 5,355 units and registering a 2 percent decline in sales.
