Tesla on Monday opened a showroom at Delhi’s Aerocity, less than a month after making its India debut with a retail outlet in Mumbai. At its showroom in the National Capital Region, the company unveiled the Model Y, priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Elon Musk-led EV giant announced that it plans to start deliveries in the country by September.

The Aerocity site also features a Tesla charging station with four V4 supercharging stalls (DC) and three destination charging stalls (AC), offering customers multiple charging options.

Delhi Launch and the Model Y’s India Debut

Tesla Regional Director for South East Asia Isabel Fan said the company plans to install additional supercharging stations in Gurugram, Noida and Saket, alongside further expansion in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Tesla is also planning to open a showroom in Bengaluru. “The other new market, new states… We cannot miss Bengaluru very soon,” she said, adding, “we don’t commit five-year plan that we cannot deliver. So whatever we share is a commitment in the upcoming (period).”

Fan also said Tesla will soon launch its mobile service, remote diagnostics, service centre and Tesla Approved Collision Centre in India.

Building the Foundation: Charging and Service Infrastructure

According to real estate analytics firm CRE Matrix, Tesla India Motor & Energy has leased 8,200 sq ft in the Worldmark 3 project from Oak Infrastructure on a nine-year term. The lease, registered on July 30, 2025, carries a starting rent of Rs 17.22 lakh per month, or Rs 210 per sq ft, with a 15% escalation every 36 months.

The Aerocity launch follows Tesla’s India debut last month at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. Ahead of that, the company had leased 24,565 sq ft of warehouse space at Lodha Logistics Park in Mumbai’s Kurla area for ₹24.38 crore over five years.

The company has also leased 33,475 sq ft space in Gurugram’s Orchid Business Park, with a super-built-up area of 50,914 sq ft. This facility is expected to serve as both a service centre and a sales outlet. The nine-year lease carries a starting rent of Rs 40 lakh per month with a 4.75% annual escalation and a three-year lock-in period.

The Model Y is available in two India-specific variants: the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) with a 60kWh battery, and the Long Range RWD with a 75kWh battery. Prices start at Rs 59.89 lakh for the RWD and Rs 67.89 lakh for the Long Range RWD, ex-showroom. According to reports, Tesla’s full self-driving package is available for an additional Rs 6 lakh.
