Tata Motors is set to make its debut in the mid-size SUV segment with the introduction of the Curvv ICE on September 2. This Coupe SUV is built on the brand-new ATLAS platform, similar to its electric counterpart. The Curvv will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.

Tata Curvv: Engine options

The Curv will be offered with three engine options: the brand-new 1.2-litre TGDI turbo petrol, the 1.2-litre turbo petrol, and the 1.5-litre diesel, with the latter two being shared with the Nexon. The new 1.2-litre engine delivers 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque, the 1.2-litre petrol generates 118 bhp and 170 Nm, and the diesel offers 116 bhp and 260 Nm. Each engine can be coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, a debut feature for the diesel variant.

The Curvv comes in mainly four variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished, each with its own set of options. This coupe SUV is available in six colour schemes: Gold Essence, Flame Red, Pristine White, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey, and Opera Blue.

The Curvv boasts several segment-first features, such as a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, a generous 500-litre luggage space, and a 12.3-inch Harman infotainment system, the largest in its class for mid-size SUVs. Additionally, it features a 10.24-inch digital instrument cluster complemented by a 9-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer. The Curvv is equipped with comprehensive LED lighting, including Welcome and Goodbye animations. Its illuminated four-spoke steering wheel also includes integrated controls.

Tata Curvv: Safety

The Curvv is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward and Rear Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition and High Beam Assist. It also comes with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Open Alert. 

Tata Curvv: Expected Price

The Curvv is going to be the second Coupe SUV in this segment after the Citroen Basalt. The Curvv is expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh onwards. The Tata Coupe SUV will have its hands full as it takes on the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
