Maruti Suzuki will set foot into the world of electric vehicles with the launch of e Vitara in the next few weeks. The electric SUV made its global debut at EICMA 2024 in November followed by its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier in January this year. The e Vitara is also set to go on sale in other international markets like the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland around the same time.
Suzuki will offer the buyers of e Vitara in the markets mentioned above a warranty of 10 years. Usually, the Japanese carmaker offers a 3-year/100,000 km or 6-year/150,000 km warranty on its cars in European markets. Carmakers usually offer a warranty of seven or eight years for EVs in India.
Suzuki e Vitara warranty details
We expect the Maruti Suzuki to offer the same warranty as its parent company will offer in the UK and Ireland which goes on sale May 1 onwards. The warranty becomes available once the e Vitara’s original manufacturer warranty of three years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first) has expired, provided the vehicle is booked in for its next scheduled service at an authorised Suzuki Dealer.
This warranty remains valid until the following qualifying service, at which point it can be renewed again—continuing this cycle until the vehicle reaches a maximum age of 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Major components are covered under the warranty, and if a customer chooses to sell their vehicle between services within the 10-year eligibility period, the warranty can be transferred to the new owner at no extra cost.
Furthermore, the Service Activated Warranty is also available for Suzuki vehicles that have been bought privately or have a break in their dealer service history.
