JSW MG Motor is all set to introduce its third electric vehicle, the Windsor. This vehicle is unique as it is a Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) EV, anticipated to be priced between the ZS EV and the Comet EV. The Windsor, a rebranded version of the Wuling Cloud EV, will distinguish itself in the Indian market with a full glass roof. The carmaker has announced that the Windsor will debut in India on September 11.
MG Windsor: Glass panel roof
The latest teaser released by MG Motor showcases that the new Windsor will get a full glass panel roof similar to the Hyundai Ionic. Apart from its aesthetic looks, the panoramic glass gives the cabin a more spacious feel. This feature is exclusive to the Indian market and is expected to be available on the top-of-the-line model. Being a moonroof or as MG calls it ‘Infinity View Glass Roof’, the roof doesn’t open like a sunroof.
MG Windsor: Features
The crossover boasts a suite of features typical of MG Motor, including automatic LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, sleek flush door handles, an electric tailgate, and a 360-degree camera complemented by disc brakes on all four wheels.
Inside, it sports a 15.6-inch infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and a 4-way powered front passenger seat. The cabin is further enhanced with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, while the rear bench offers a sofa-like feature with a 135-degree recline.
MG Windsor: Battery Specs
MG Motor has not confirmed the specifications but based on the international model, the Windsor is expected to be equipped with a 50.6 kWh battery pack, powered by a 134 bhp electric motor, which offers a claimed range of 460 km under the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). Additionally, a smaller 37.9 kWh battery option in various international markets is available, offering a claimed range of 360 km.
