After multiple teasers and spy shots, Maruti Suzuki will launch the new generation model of Swift in India today. The fourth-gen Swift made its debut at the Japan Mobilty Show in Tokyo last year in October. Earlier in March this year, it made its way to the United Kingdom market. That said, the India-spec model will be slightly different from its Japanese and English siblings.

Design updates in the new-gen Maruti Swift will include sleeker headlamp cluster with integrated DRLs, a new blacked-out grille with honeycomb mesh internals and gloss-black surrounds, new LED taillamp cluster with C-shaped internals, and a new clamshell bonnet.
Bookings for the new-gen Swift started at the beginining of May for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
The first Maruti Swift was launched in 2005 which got a facelift in 2009. The second-gen model made its debut in 2011, followed by its facelift in 2015. The third-gen Swift came out in 2018 which got a mild facelift in 2018. This makes the upcoming model the fourth generation Swift.
