It recently came to light that MG Motor will launch its CBU business in India with the MG Select premium dealerships. The first CBU model to be brought to India by MG will be the Cyberster. The all-electric roadster will make its debut this month at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
Now, the Chinese-owned British carmaker has revealed that it will unveil its second offering under the MG Select CBU programme. The company has officially announced that it will showcase the M9 electric MPV at the annual motoring exhibition. A launch is expected to take place later this year.
Internationally called Mifa 9, the M9 is a premium luxury MPV with a boxy design. Upfront, it gets sleek LED DRLs and LED headlamps positioned on the bumper with a chrome element on its lower lip and a trapezoidal front grill. The side profile is more understated with minimal frills and a sliding rear door which gives a classy look. At the rear, the MP gets a flat tailgate, L-shaped LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler.
MG M9: Expected features & specs
Conceptualised to provide ultimate comfort and luxury on wheels, the cabin of M9 is laced with all the bells and whistles. These include a touchscreen handrail on reclining ottoman seats in the second row, power rear sliding doors, 8 massage modes in the ottoman seats, panoramic sunroof, and a 3-zone climate control to name a few, all controlled via the touchscreen panel on the handrail.
This limousine will cater to the judicious few who wish to travel with the best amenities and can comfortably seat seven passengers across three rows. Measuring 5.2 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 1.8 meters in height, the M9 is larger than its rivals like Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire in size.
Like the Cyberster, the M9 will be powered by a battery and electric motor, although MG hasn’t confirmed the same yet. It is expected to feature a 90 kWh battery pack which promises to return a range of 430 km (WLTP) on a single charge. The battery is likely to feed power to an electronic motor which kicks out 245 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque.
