Maruti is looking to make significant strides in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. Earlier this year, parent company– Suzuki, announced its first EV which is being co-developed by alliance partner Toyota. Codenamed eVX, a pre-production concept of the same was showcased at the 2023 AutoExpo.
A couple of months back, test mules of the eVX were caught on cameras for the first time, carrying out trial runs on foreign soil. Now, a test mule of the eVX electric SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time. The electric car was spotted testing in Poland earlier this year.
Maruti eVX spied testing: Visual details
A near-production version of the eVX made its appearance at the recently concluded Japan Mobillity Show. As seen in the images, the latest test unit of the eVX, spotted testing in Gurugram, is wearing a thick black camouflage. This makes it difficult to gauge any specific visual details of the car. However, the testing prototype looks a little toned down as compared to the concept showcased earlier this year.
Despite being heavily draped, the latest spy images revealed highlights such as a sharp front design featuring Y-shaped LED headlamps, a blanked-off grille and a large air dam in the lower section, and a sculpted bonnet. The side profile is sporty with a roofline sloping towards the rear. Other visual highlights include C-pillar mounted rear door handles, multi-spoke alloy wheels, a roof mounted spoiler, sharp LED taillamps connected by a thin LED strip, and a shark fin antenna.
