Mahindra launched the new-gen Scorpio-N in 2022 which was a big evolution over the older Scorpio. Laced with modern features backed by multiple engine and transmission options, the Scorpio-N retains the rugged ladder-on-frame SUV traits as its predecessor but offers a lot more sophistication.
According to a new report by Carwale, Mahindra Scorpio-N will get a new set of features, and these updated features are likely to be offered in an all-new top-spec variant. Mahindra will soon offer a panoramic electric sunroof with the Scorpio-N. The Scorpio-N currently comes with a single-pane electric sunroof in the higher-spec variants. But that’s just the icing on the cake.
Mahindra Scorpio-N: Addition of ADAS
The report further states that the Chakan-based automaker will enhance the feature list with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Although not confirmed, the Scorpio-N could offer the same set of ADAS features that are available in the XUV700. These include smart pilot assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, high beam assist, lane keep assist, etc.
In terms of powertrain, the new top-spec trim of Scorpio-N will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. This includes a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol unit and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill. The former kicks out 2000 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque whereas the latter is expected to dish out 172 bhp and 370 Nm (400 Nm in AT) of peak torque.
Both engine options can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The oil burner can also be had with a 4×4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case. This is accompanied by brake locking differential and 4XPLOR terrain mode for snow, sand, mud, or a normal road. The diesel 2WD variants get drive modes – Zip, Zap, and Zoom, wherein ‘Zoom’ offers the most engaging throttle response.
