Kia is geared up to take the lid off its upcoming product– Syros– tomorrow. The SUV has been spotted on numerous occasions over the past year and a half. In the past few weeks, the Korean carmaker has shared multiple teasers of the upcoming compact SUV on its social media handles.

There has been plenty of conjecture regarding the position of the Syros in Kia’s lineup but a few months ago Kia confirmed that the upcoming SUV will be slotted above the Sonet in the company’s range of products. However, dimensions of the Syros have now been leaked on the internet which paint a different picture.

Kia Syros dimensions leaked

According to recent report by Carwale, Kia Syros will be a sub-compact SUV falling below the 4 metre mark. It will reportedly measure 3,995mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,665mm in height. The SUV will offer a wheelbase of 2,550mm. The leaked info reveals that the new Kia Syros will offer a boot space of 465-litres, which will be one of the biggest in its category.

Given, Kia already offers the Sonet in the sub-4 metre SUV space, the addition of another model in the same segment may create some confusion. However, Kia will most likely market the Syros as a lifestyle vehicle. Given a much larger wheelbase, priority will be given to rear seat space. Also, practicality will be enhanced with a large boot.

Kia Syros: Expected design

The Syros will break from the design language seen in current SUVs like the Sonet and Seltos, embracing a more boxy silhouette. This upcoming model will feature distinctive styling cues, including vertically stacked LED headlights and L-shaped tail lamps reminiscent of Kia’s flagship EV9.

The flat bonnet and square-shaped wheel arches, combined with flush door handles, contribute to its unique character. Recent teasers have provided glimpses of other notable features, such as a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and stylish dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.

Kia Syros: Expected powertrain

Kia Syros is anticipated to be available with a choice of two engines: a 1.5-liter diesel and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol. The diesel engine, shared with models like the Sonet, Seltos, and Creta, generates 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol engine, also found in the Sonet, Venue, and Verna, provides 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque.
