Kia Carens Clavis India unveil highlights: Bookings open at Rs 25,000, price announcement next month

The Kia Carens Clavis comes with a refreshed exterior styling featuring redesigned front fascia with split headlamp setup, Starmap LED Connected Taillamps, 17-inch crystal-cut ,dual-tone alloy wheels, front & rear Skid Plates with Satin Chrome finish, side door garnish inserts on Metal Paint, and new Ivory Silver Gloss body colour.

The Clavis will be available across eight colour schemes namely Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Clear White

Kia will offer the Carens Clavis in India in seven trims namely: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX & HTX+.

The new Kia Carens Clavis retains the same powertrain setup as the regular Carens including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT) 6-speed torque converter automatic, and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Kia Carens Clavis comes with an upgraded equipment consisting of features such as a twin 26.62-inch panaromic display, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, front ventilated seats, in-built navigation, Bose audio system, etc. It also comes with a Boss Mode, where the second row passenger can adjust the distance of the co-driver’s seat from behind and adjust the legroom.

Bookings for the new Kia Carens Clavis opens on 00:01 AM on 9 May 2025. Interested buyers can pre-book the new Carens Clavis at a token amount of Rs 25,000 via Kia’s official website or an authorised dealership. Priced to be announced next month.

58 percent of Kia Carens buyers opt for petrol variants, 42 percent for diesel. Additionally, 32 percent of Carens customers choose either an automatic or iMT (clutchtless manual) transmissions. 28 percent of buyers opt for variants with a sunroof indicating growing fondness for sunroofs among Indians.

As seen in the recent teasers, the front fascia of the Clavis stands out with its new LED headlamp setup, featuring a unique three-pod design housed in a triangular frame. These headlights are positioned on either side of a redesigned grille and a revised front bumper. The overall silhouette and side profile appear largely unchanged, aside from what may be new alloy wheel designs. Earlier spy shots have also hinted at an updated taillamp configuration.

Kia Carens Clavis will come equipped with Level 2 ADAS comprising safety features such as forward collision avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision, lane keep assist and departure warning, etc. Besides ADAS, the Clavis will offer safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera.

As a more premium alternative, the new Kia Carens Clavis will be loaded with features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system (largest in the segment), a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and more importantly Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System.

As confirmed by recent teasers, the new Clavis will be an extension of the exiting Carens. In fact, the new model will be named Kia Carens Clavis, and will be positioned as a more premium alternative to the existing Carens with more features and probably more space as well.
