There is great hype going around the inaugural edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo (BMGE) scheduled from 1st to 3rd February 2024. It is the second major mobility show after the biennial Auto Expo in India which will focus on upcoming sustainable and cleaner mobility solutions.
Tata Motors is one of the major participants and the company has shared its lists of passenger vehicles which will be showcased at the event held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Here’s a look at some of the interesting prototypes from Tata Motors which will take shape as full production models in the near future.
Tata Nexon i-CNG concept
Tata Motors has been working on a CNG version of the Nexon for a very long time. Test mules of the subcompact SUV with a CNG powertrain were spotted previously on multiple occasions. It was earlier believed that the carmaker would introduce the CNG-powered Nexon at the launch of the facelifted Nexon earlier in September 2023, however, that wasn’t the case.

Finally, the company will showcase the new Nexon i-CNG concept at the 2024 BMGE. The prototype on display is expected to be a near production-spec model of the same and it is expected to carry the same design as its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart. There are specific details regarding its powertrain yet but we expect Tata to offer Nexon CNG the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit as the ICE Nexon but in a detuned state.
Tata Curvv Concept
While Tata Motors has already revealed the Curvv Concept on more than one occasion, the prototype to be presented at the upcoming exhibition will be the closest to production. As reported earlier, it will be available in both ICE and EV derivatives. Like the concept, the production models will also carry a tall stance with a sporty profile courtesy of a sharply tapering coupe-like roofline.

Tata Altroz Racer Concept
Tata Motors will also reveal the new Altroz Racer Concept at the inaugural BMGE. A test mule of the same was recently spotted testing as well. The biggest highlight of Altroz Racer will be the new 1.2-litre TGDI turbocharged petrol motor from Tata Motors. This unit is expected to dish out a peak output of 125 bhp at 5,000 rpm and a torque of 225 Nm at 1,700-3,500 rpm.

This is far greater than the current Altroz i-Turbo on sale. When launched later this year, the Altroz Racer will be a direct rival to Hyundai i20 N Line.
Tata Harrier EV concept
Tata has been working on a fully electric derivative of Harrier for a long time. The company presented a prototype of the same earlier at the Auto Expo last year. The new display model at BMGE is expected to be closer to production. Tata Motors is also expected to reveal some key specs of the Harrier EV at the upcoming auto exhibition. Expect it to hit the market towards the end of this year.

Besides the models mentioned above, the Tata Motors’ pavilion at the 2024 BMGE will also feature cars like the new Safari Dark concept, Safari, the recently-launched Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev Dark Edition.
