
The much-awaited Datsun redi-GO will finally make its global debut today i.e. April 14, 2016 in an event in Delhi. Upon its launch sometime in May 2016, the Datsun redi GO will take on the likes of Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.

The official sketch images of the redi GO reveal that it looks more or less similar to the redi GO concept that was showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Elements like high shoulder line, high ground clearance, roof rails, chunky wheel arches give the rediGo a crossover-ish look.

Datsun redi GO is based on the CMF-A platform which is the same that underpins the Renault Kwid. For people not in the know, this platform was jointly developed by Nissan and Renault with the vision of using it several entry-level cars. Datsun redi-GO engine options
Initially, the rediGO will be offered with a 0.8-litre, three-cylinder engine which is the same that also powers the Renault Kwid. This engine is good for 53bhp and 72Nm. Though the Datsun redi-GO might come with a diesel engine as well at a later stage. The diesel powertrain could be a 1000cc, 3-cylinder unit that could also power other upcoming small cars from Nissan and Renault.
Datsun redi-GO expected price range
Though there is no official word yet on its pricing, we expect the Datsun rediGO to be priced at par with Renault Kwid. The Renault Kwid is priced between Rs 2.6 lakh – Rs 3.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Since the vehicle is production-ready and the company genuinely needs a volume generator, the vehicle could be launched anytime in May 2016. More details on this will be revealed upon its unveiling on April 14, 2016.
