Car discounts in December 2017: Year end offers include upto Rs 1 lakh price cuts and free insurance on popular cars

The year-end car discounts are offered by manufacturers to clear their stocks for the year. However, some companies have now announced price hike for their models starting next year. Here’s the detailed list of discounts and we tell you how you can purchase a 2018 car at a price of a 2017 model.

We are in the last month of the year 2017 and in order to clear the stocks, multiple automakers are offering year-end car discounts to the customers in the form of exchange and cash benefits. Despite several challenges this year, companies are able to offer lucrative discounts in order to please nad make happy their respective audiences. The year 2017 has also seen multiple car launches along with some big ones like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The year saw the arrival of some interesting cars like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, new 2017 Hyundai Verna, Maruti Baleno RS, Tata Tigor and a lot more. Besides these, the compact SUV space also witnessed the entry of some handsome newcomers like the Tata Nexon and the 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift that further spiced up the competition. This makes for more number of options available in the Indian car market with the year-end discounts acting like a cherry on the top. However, as we are progressing towards 2018, one can see many car companies announcing price hikes with the start of next year. When we see through the eyes of a customer, many do not wish to purchase a car in December to avoid that one year old tag and hence, choose to opt for a new vehicle after a month only. When Express Drives spoke to a few dealers in Delhi NCR, we came to know that many dealerships are giving an option to the customers that offer both kind of advantages. Now, you can pick a car of your choice in month end to avail the year end benefits and get the billing done for December 2017 only. The registration of the car can be done by the dealer in the month of January 2018. However, just in case, if the RTO (Regional Transport Office) increases the road tax for 2018, the extra amount has to be paid by the customer only.

The Maruti Suzuki outlets are offering some attractive discounts starting from its Alto 800 hatchback to its Ertiga MPV. The Alto 800 is being offered with benefits of Rs 55,000, while the Alto K10 is available with discounts of Rs 45,000. For the first-time, some dealerships are giving benefits on Ignis that now comes with discounts up to Rs 40,000. However, the best selling cars in company’s portfolio like the Vitara Brezza, Baleno, 2017 Dzire and 2017 S-Cross are being sold without any cash benefits and exchange bonus.

The Hyundai Dealerships are offering cash benefits and exchange bonus on Eon, Grand i10, Xcent, Elite i20, Active i20, Elantra and Tucson. Hyundai Eon is being offered with benefits upto Rs 55,000, while Grand i10 diesel variants are being sold at a discount of upto Rs 90,000. The company showrooms are giving an exchange bonus of Rs 75,000 on Elantra and Rs 65,000 on Tucson. The company’s Creta SUV and the new 2017 Verna are being offered without any discounts.

Honda is no behind in this race and the company’s dealerships are offering attractive benefits on its cars like Brio, Jazz and BR-V. The dealerships are offering a cash discount, exchange benefits and free insurance. The Brio is offered with one-year free insurance and the Jazz is being offered with benefits like Rs 25,000 cash discount. The BR-V is offered with a maximum cash discount of Rs 1 lakh, while the BR-V and 2017 Honda City see no cash or exchange benefits.

For the month of December 2017, Tata Motors has introduced its ‘Mega offer Max Celebration campaign’. Under the campaign, the brand is offering discounts on Tiago, Tigor, Zest, Hexa and Strome. The Tiago hatchback is offered with a discount of Rs 26,000 and the Tigor compact sedan is on sale with benefits of up to Rs 32,000. The Hexa is available with a discount of Rs 78,000, while the Safari Strome is now being offered with maximum benefits of Rs 1 lakh.
