Aston Martin’s new flagship— the DB12 has finally landed on Indian shores. The sports sedan is brought to the country as a fully imported model under the CBU route and hence costs a whopping Rs 4.59 crore (ex-showroom), without the various customisation options.
With this model, the British marque has created a whole new category in the luxury performance segment. Aston Martin claims the DB12 to be the “world’s first Super Tourer”. Deliveries of the new DB12 will commence in the next few months starting with Delhi, followed by other prominent places like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai.”

Aston Martin claims that the DB12 is 80% new in comparison to its predecessor— DB11. It gets an all new front end with a wider stance and more muscular surfaces. It has got wider tracks both at the front and rear. There’s the obvious signature Aston Martin trapezoidal grille at front along with the frame doors and flush-fitted handles on the sides.
Coming to its profile, the swooping Coupe roofline makes it cut through the air smoothly. The massive 21-inch alloy wheels add to the car’s massive stance.The rear end, comparatively remains underrated with highlights like C-shaped LED taillamps, and a massive diffuser housing twin chrome-studded exhaust tips.
Cabin interiors of the new DB witness significant changes, the most prominent of those being a newly designed dashboard and centre console. Feature highlights include a new in-house developed 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a Bowers and Wilkins audio system, and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display.

However, the highlight of an Aston Martin lies under its hood. In this case, it is a 4.0-litre V8 Twin Turbo petrol engine that dishes out 671 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 800 Nm at 2,750-6,000 rpm. Channelling all this power to the rear wheels is an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The DB12 also benefits from an electronic rear differential that adds to the driving dynamics. The driving dynamics are further aided by the addition of the most recent adaptive dampers and stronger anti-roll bars from Aston Martin. As for performance, the DB12 can clock a top speed of 325 kmph. The supercar can breach the 0 to 100 kmph mark in just 3.6 seconds. There are five drive modes to choose from– Wet, GT, Sport, Sports Plus and Individual.
