The Triumph Speed 400 was launched at Rs 2.23 lakh ex-showroom, and now, effective January 1, the entry-level street naked will see a price increase of Rs 10,000. The 2.23 lakh price was introductory and was valid till December 31, 2023.
Launched in July 2023, the Speed 400 became the first product to be launched in India under the Bajaj-Triumph partnership and is also Triumph’s entry-level offering globally. The Speed 400’s launch was followed by the Scrambler 400X’s launch a few months later.
Powered by a 398cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, the Speed 400 delivers 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets traction control and ABS as standard, while there is no quickshifter on offer.
Suspension duties are taken care of by USD forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, while disc brakes at both ends take care of braking duties. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, while it competes directly with the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310R, TVS Apache RTR 310, and Bajaj Dominar amongst others in the segment.
