Some things never go out of fashion and this is especially true when it comes to motorcycles, as more and more manufacturers are offering retro-styled bikes, outfitted with modern components. Here are five retro motorcycles in India that one can buy right now, along with their pricing and engine specifications.
Royal Enfield Classic 350
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is as old school as one can get in India right now, and the motorcycle does a pretty good job in the looks department. The split seat design, long exhaust, round headlight and rounded side boxes add to the appeal of the Classic 350. However, modern bits like disc brakes, ABS, and fuel injection add to the modern side of things.
Powered by a 349cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 20bhp and 27Nm of torque, the Classic 350 is the company’s best-selling product in India and is priced at Rs 1.93 lakh onwards ex-showroom.
Yezdi Roadster
The Yezdi and Jawa names made a comeback in India a few years ago and under its lineup, the motorcycles have seen various changes and updates since their launch. One of the most retro-styled offerings from Yezdi is the Roadster, with its all-black design, twin exhausts, and small visor, however, alloy wheels and a digital instrument cluster give it the needed modern touches.
The Yezdi Roadster is priced at Rs 2.06 lakh onwards, ex-showroom and is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 29bhp and 29Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Honda CB350
The new Honda CB350 looks like a Honda of the yesteryears and is a big step away from the CB350 and the CB350RS most are familiar with. The new update sees the motorcycle get full fenders, chunkey seats, round headlight, and paint schemes that enhance the retro feel of the motorcycle.
The Honda CB350 is powered by a 348cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 20.7bhp and 29Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The power figures are similar to that of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, and so is the pricing — Rs 1.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
Jawa 42
The Jawa 42 is another motorcycle from the brand that made a comeback alongside Yezdi, and the 42’s design with blacked-out engine components, a large rear fender, a flat handlebar, and a tiny visor give it a proper retro look.
The Jawa 42 is powered by a 294cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 27bhp and nearly 27Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Jawa 42 is priced at Rs 1.94 lakh, ex-showroom.
Yamaha FZ-X
People seldom think of Yamaha when it comes to retro motorcycles and the Yamaha FZ-X is a good reminder of Japanese companies and their past motorcycles. Based on the same platform as the FZ, the retro-styled FZ-X gets a sculpted tank and a round headlight, but also modern components and traction control.
Priced at Rs 1.36 lakh ex-showroom, the FZ-X is the most affordable retro motorcycle on the list and is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder engine that makes 12bhp and 13Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
