Suzuki has issued a recall for the 2024 Hayabusa motorcycle, made between July 7, 2023 and November 28, 2023. At the moment, the recall is only for the US models, however, since the sport tourer is made in Japan, the recall could roll over to other countries as well. The affected models also include the 25th-anniversary edition.

The recall for the Suzuki Hayabusa is for an issue with the BAS module. Suzuki says that during a routine inspection, it was found that the ABS module could leak because of improper torquing of the bolts, which in turn will affect the braking performance, leading to a possible crash. Suzuki says that the fix is easy and the owners will be notified.

Suzuki already issued a stop-sale notice for the Hayabusa on January 18 in select regions globally, while the company issued a recall for the 2024 Suzuki Hayabusa models on January 2024 to address this issue at an early stage.

The Suzuki Hayabusa was recalled in March last year owing to another braking issue. Suzuki said, “In certain conditions, a passage in the front brake master cylinder body that regulates fluid pressure may become blocked when the brake lever is released. If this occurs, the brake lever may require greater than normal travel in a subsequent application of the front brake. This can lead to extended stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash.”
