Royal Enfield has officially teased its upcoming 450cc roadster and yes it is going to be called ‘Guerilla’. The Chennai-based bikemaker has also confirmed that it will make its global debut on 17 July 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. Through multiple social media posts on Royal Enfield’s handles, the company has confirmed the latest development.
Spy shots of this motorcycle have been going viral for almost two years now. As mentioned in previous reports, this 450cc roadster will be based on the same platform as the new-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The teaser images reveal plenty of visual details of the upcoming naked roadster.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected design & features
As seen in previous spy images, Guerilla retains some signature Royal Enfield styling cues such as a round headlamp, an off-set circular instrument console, and round rear view mirrors. However, most of the components are brand new like the chiselled yet muscular fuel tank, a floating tail section, a single-piece seat, split grab rails, an underbelly bash plate, and a stubby exhaust muffler, just like the one seen in Himalayan 450.
In terms of features, the off-set instrument cluster could be a part digital LCD unit or a fully-digital TFT unit just like the Himalayan. Other expected features include Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlights, LED winkers, multiple ride modes, and a USB charging port.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected hardware
From the images, it looks as if the bike rolls on both 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels much like the Hunter 350 which adds a hint of compactness which are shod with block pattern tyres. The teaser images shows Guerilla getting telescopic forks up front and a preload adjustable rear monoshock. Braking duties will be handled by a disc brake at the front and rear.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected powertrain specs
Like the Himalayan 450, the Guerilla 450 will be powered by the same 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa series engine. In the adventure tourer, this motor kicks out 39 bhp at 8,000rpm and peak torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. However, for the upcoming roadster it may receive a different tuning with slightly different outputs. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected pricing
As far as pricing is concerned, we expect Guerilla 450 to undercut its ADV sibling by some margin. It is likely to carry a sticker price of around Rs 2.30 – 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
