Okaya EV announced the launch of its new premium subsidiary brand Ferrato earlier in March this year. And now the homegrown EV startup has introduced the first model under this brand called Disruptor. Priced at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), deliveries for the Ferrato Disruptor are expected to commence from August this year.
Pre-bookings for the electric sports bike have started via the company official website. The first 1000 buyers can book the Disruptor at a token amount of Rs 500. The company claims the running cost of the Disruptor stands at 25 paise per km. Okaya is offering a 3-year/30,000 km warranty on the Ferrato Disruptor.
Commenting on the launch, Anshul Gupta, Managing Director of Okaya EV, said, “We are excited to introduce the Disruptor, under the banner of Ferrato, to Indian bike enthusiasts who are eager to experience the power of EVs. With its groundbreaking technology, exhilarating performance, and sporty design, the Disruptor aligns perfectly with changing the landscape of the road to lead the way in providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.”
Okaya Ferrato Disruptor: Design, specs & features
The Ferrato Disruptor looks like a contemporary faired sports bike with a twin-LED headlamp setup encased within the front apron. Other visual highlights include a floating tail section, split seats, split grab rails, and side skirts on the fairing. It rolls on 17-inch black alloy wheels. The bike will be available in three colours – Inferno Red, Thunder Blue and Stealth Black.
In terms of features, it comes with a fully-digital instrument console integrated with Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, geo-fencing, and Find My Vehicle functionality. Okaya is also offering a sound box as an optional accessory. The soundbox will emulate the sound of a regular petrol-powered motorcycle which alerts pedestrians and other riders in the vicinity about a vehicle.
Powering the Disruptor is a mid-mounted permanent magnet motor with a nominal output of 3.3 kW and a peak output of 6.37 kW. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a chain drive system. The company claims a top speed of 380 kmph. There are three ride modes on offer – Eco, City, and Sports. In addition, there is a reverse assist mode.
The motor draws its energy from a 4 kWh LFP battery that claims to return a range of 129 km on a single charge. It takes five hours for the battery to get fully charged. Okaya EV is offering a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kilometres on the battery, whichever is earlier.
